Acadenda does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. There is no server on our side, so there is nowhere for your content to go.
Conference programmes you import, the talks and speakers read out of them, your notes, and any voice recordings and their transcripts are all stored on the device. None of it is sent to the developer or to any third party, and the app includes no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
Turning a programme into structured talks and speakers is done by Apple's on-device language model. The text never leaves your device, and it is not sent to us or to any AI service.
If you record a voice note, the audio is saved on the device and transcribed by Apple's on-device speech recognition. Both the recording and the transcript stay on the device.
Acadenda can look a speaker up in OpenAlex, a free public catalogue of scholarly work, to show where they work. This is off unless you turn it on, and it runs only when you tap to search.
The only thing sent is the speaker's name as printed in the programme — no identifier of you, your device, or anything else in the app. There is no account and no API key. What OpenAlex does with a query it receives is governed by its own privacy practices.
Menu items that search for a speaker's papers on Google Scholar or Semantic Scholar open your browser at those sites with the name in the search field. The app itself does not contact them; following such a link is a visit you make to that site, under its own privacy practices.
If you leave a tip, it is an ordinary App Store purchase handled entirely by Apple's App Store and StoreKit. Acadenda never sees your payment information, and any data related to the transaction is processed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. Tips unlock nothing and are not required to use the app.
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
